Newsround Logo

2013 saw Tokyo awarded the 2020 Summer Olympics, Philippe sworn in as King of the Belgians and the Mars Orbiter Mission launched. And in our industry, Cromax shed its old brand name and introduced a bold new logo.

Cromax goes from strength to strength and continues to prove its worth thanks to a history that dates back nearly 100 years. Brand manager for our region Kevin Torfs says, “We are a brand that champions productivity. Anyone who works with Cromax knows we advocate productivity in everything we do. And we work very closely with our customers, our end-users as well as with our R&D teams to bring new coating innovations that meet the needs of our bodyshops.”

Those innovations have kept Cromax at the forefront of colour technology and trends, ensuring the highest standards of reliable, consistent and accurate colour matching.

Just right for everything

Kevin is acutely aware of the pressures modern bodyshops in the EMEA region face, especially cost pressure, which can drive bodyshops to buy lesser quality products. Kevin says, “This is a false economy. You can run a bodyshop economically with high-quality paint material. Our refinish systems help bodyshops to save time, energy and materials, so we can clearly demonstrate, at every point in the repair process, tangible benefits from Cromax.” At Cromax, our focus is to make things faster, simpler and easier for our customers. And this extends to every aspect of refinish, not just the paint.

The limited edition Iwata LS400 silver spray gun

Celebrating five years

There are two special items to mark this five-year anniversary: a limited-edition spray gun and a special calendar for 2019. The Iwata LS400 silver spray gun, which is specifically for basecoats, sports a special anniversary logo on the side of the gun and boasts some Cromax-red highlights. It comes with a specially designed red carrying case and a certificate of authenticity. Only 200 will be manufactured, and they will be available from September 2018. And the first-ever Cromax 2019 wall calendar will exclusively feature the work of artist Peter Maier. He creates the most outstanding photo-realistic images using Cromax Pro Basecoat, applied with artist studio airbrushes and traditional brushes, sometimes layering as many as 25 coats to create the desired effects. The work is then clear coated to give them their very special and impressive quality.

Kevin says, “Our continuing innovation means continued productivity benefits for our customers, now and tomorrow.”
