3 JUNE 2025 – Cromax^® introduces its latest basecoat in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Cromax EZ+. The new waterborne basecoat system is the evolution of the brand’s classic Cromax Basecoat. Cromax EZ+ is an easy-to-use, wet-on-wet basecoat that has been developed to deliver outstanding colour performance and value for money to bodyshops.

It's not just the basecoat that is new. Cromax EZ+ boasts innovative, easy to handle, squeezable bottles in three sizes (100ml, 350ml and 800ml) that are made from 50% recycled plastic. This approach supports Axalta’s sustainability efforts and those of its bodyshops.

The Cromax EZ+ bottles don’t need to be used on a mixing machine; they can simply be stored on a shelf and shaken before use. The precision of the bottle’s dosing lid gives refinishers full accuracy when mixing, which minimises waste by getting every drop of paint from each bottle.

Tony Mitchell, International Training Leader for Axalta’s Refinish business in EMEA, says, “Cromax EZ+ is the result of 20 years of ongoing development, featuring patented Axalta technology. Included in the launch are eight dedicated Cromax EZ+ tints and 13 so-called hybrid tints, filled in 100ml bottles, which conveniently can be used in the Cromax EZ+ System as well as in the high productive Cromax Pro System.

Mitchell says, “Cromax EZ+ is an all-round performer that fits in with bodyshops’ current work processes, so it is very easy to start using. Cromax EZ+ offers great value for money thanks to its very good hiding and coverage with just 2.5 wet-on-wet coats and familiar application process. It also has very good blending and mottling control as well as outstanding colour performance, which makes it suitable for most repairs.”
